Cronulla tasted victory for the third time in four matches and a win against the Warriors on Saturday would cement their spot in the top eight with just two rounds to go.

A last gasp 18-12 win against the Dragons wasn’t vintage Sharks footy, but they’ll take the two points against their traditional rivals. Last round the Warriors scored the first try and that was all they offered on the scoreboard, hammered 42-6 by the Chooks at the SCG.

Coach Stephen Kearney has resisted wholesale changes, with Gerard Beale the only out. For the Sharks, Matt Moylan is again sidelined with injury, shifting Josh Dugan to fullback, while Andrew Fifita is back from injury.

These two sides played a cracker in Wellington last month, with the Warriors winning by a field goal.

This is the Warriors’ first visit to Shark Park since 2016 when they lost 19-18 in golden point. The Wolf is sensing the Warriors have run their race this season and despite covering the handicap 7 times in 10 away games, they have only won three of those. That barren run will continue on Saturday as the Sharks should win by double digits.

Wolf Facts

  • The Warriors last defeated the Sharks at Pointsbet Stadium in Round 9, 2015, coming away with a
    20 to 16 win.
  • The Warriors have lost four times this season, after leading at half-time.
  • Roger Tuivasa-Sheck needs just 82 more run metres to reach the 4,000 metres run mark for the season.
H2H: Sharks -6.5 ($1.90)
Value: Sharks 13+ ($2.65)
