Super League

Salford v Huddersfield: Sunday Preview

10 Aug 19 0 Comments

The Red Devils are brimming with confidence at present with five wins from their last seven games putting them in sixth position and only two points behind Catalans in fifth. Their very presence mid-table has come as a shock for many pundits and fans who believed Salford would be near the bottom of Super League.

Huddersfield, on the other hand, are in a very real danger of relegation, sitting just two points above the Broncos at the bottom and playing some of the worst rugby their fans will have seen for a good few years. The Giants’ form is abysmal with just two wins in eight, though they have won their last two matches against the Red Devils.

Salford’s Ken Sio and Ryan Lannon come into the squad whilst Joe Wardle, Sebastine Ikahihifo and Tom Holmes are brought back into the Huddersfield side by head coach Simon Woolford. Matt Frawley, Aaron Murphy and Adam Walne – the latter through suspension – drop out.

In Jackson Hastings, Salford have the form halfback in the league and have had an incredible season up until now. Yet, head coach Ian Watson is not content to settle for just that. One of the most impressive talented British coaches in the game, Watson has every chance of motivating his players to have a shot at Old Trafford. SALFORD FOR THE WIN
