Super League

Salford v Hull KR

13 Sep 19 0 Comments

Surprise packages Salford have already confirmed their play-off spot with victory over Leeds last weekend, whilst the contrast with Hull KR could not be more different. A loss to London allowed the Broncos to move level with the East Yorkshire side heading into the last weekend of the regular season.

The Red Devils have been one of the most entertaining sides in the division in 2019, winning their last seven games to confirm a play-off place for the first time since 2006. Meanwhile, Hull KR have been one of the most disappointing, wining just two of their last six games and just ten games all season.

Salford head coach Ian Watson has brought back Adam Lawton and Ryan Lannon into the side as Gil Dudson and Tyrone McCarthy drop out. Dean Hadley, Adam Quinlan and George Lawler return for Tony Smith’s side but captain Joel Tomkins and Jimmy Keinhorst sit out through suspension and injury respectively.

The threat of relegation is very much real for the Robins; lose here and London win at Wakefield and they are down. But, however desperate KR may be, Salford are a different class and should continue their brilliant winning run.
