St Helens v Huddersfield
06 September 2019
Huddersfield finally eased their relegation worries with a superb 22-12 victory against Hull FC, but still remain in the bottom-of-the-table mire. And, league leaders St Helens are likely to pose an altogether different challenge.
With just three league losses in 2019, the Saints are on course for another finals appearance and head coach Justin Holbrook will be aiming to gain some momentum after their Challenge Cup Final loss two weeks ago.
The Giants have won just three games in 11 fixtures and have lost three times against the Saints in 2019. Huddersfield have, however, performed better away from home in recent times, winning three of their last five away from the John Smith’s Stadium.
St Helens have Lachlan Coote and Dom Peyroux back in their side as Huddersfield coach Simon Woolford includes Tom Holmes and Adam Walne in the Giants' 19-man squad, with Aaron Murphy and injured half-back Matt Frawley dropping out.
Saints should beat Huddersfield with ease going into the business end of the season, but London have inflicted two defeats on the Lancashire club this year when Saints have underestimated the capital club. Saints need to get back on the horse and take the Giants seriously.
