Wakefield v Wigan

After easing their relegation fears slightly with a 38-10 victory over Hull KR last weekend, Wakefield are likely to face Wigan with some confidence. This is in stark contrast to the side that looked destined to further slide down the Super League table following a previous run of one win in 12. New signing Morgan Escare has brought some much needed spark to the Trinity attack and they finally look comfortable in attack.

Speaking of confidence, however, Wigan have won nine of their last ten games, bringing the Warriors level on points with second-placed Warrington. Such a rich vein of form is integral to a championship push in September and October and Wigan look poised to defend their Grand Final success of 2018.

Good news for Wakefield though, as they have already beaten Wigan in April. Yet that was a completely different Wigan side to the one that is currently firing on all cylinders.

Amir Bourouh replaces Jarrod Sammut for Wigan, with Joe Bullock also missing out as Joe Burgess comes in. Meanwhile, Trinity head coach Chris Chester names an unchanged 19-man squad from the one that beat Hull KR two weeks ago.

Trinity currently sit ninth in the table, but just two points in front of Huddersfield, Hull KR and London. Victory here could see the West Yorkshire club finally pull clear of relegation, but they are going up against the form side in the competition. And, the Warriors do not look like letting up any time soon. WIGAN FOR THE WIN
