New Zealand All Black Ardie Savea recently appeared on the ICE Project Podcast while being interviewed by former Cook Islands International Isaac John revealed that he would like to make a switch to Rugby League.

When asked which team he’d like to play for he said:

“Strategically I’d like to play for a team that’s good… like the Storm or Roosters.”

Savea then appeared on Mark Staffords podcast an revealed a big reason he wants to switch codes was that he wants to play for Samoa was a huge reason.

Savea had this to say:

“A big part of why I wanted to go to league was because I could play for Samoa because of the rules”

In Rugby League Savea would indeed be eligible to represent Samoa through ancestral ties in a move that would be huge for International Rugby League.

Whether it comes to fruition, we will have to wait and see.
