A Fran Goldthorp double helped England Women beat their Wales counterparts 32-6 in their mid-season international.

Craig Richards saw his side cross on six occasions at Pandy Park to continue preparations ahead of the delayed World Cup taking place on home soil this winter.

Goldthorp got the ball rolling after eight minutes in Cross Keys when she raced across in the corner.

Seven minutes later and she had gone over for a second before Amy Hardcastle produced a great finish to take the score to 14-0 inside 20 minutes.

Shona Hoyle added another prior to half-time and Tara Jones ensured England did not let up early into the second period.

Wales were able to reply through Leanne Burnell and proceedings were much closer after the break but Hollie Dodd ensured the visitors had the final say with another try two minutes from time to secure an overall victory margin of 26 points.
