The National Conference League is delighted to announce the appointment of the vastly experienced Dave Parkinson as their Media Manager for the 2022 season.
Dave, 42, has been championing the Community game for several years and has covered all aspects of the sport for the Rugby League Trade press, and several local newspapers. He is a regular member of the RFL’s OuRLeague App commentary team, and is the lead host of the 13 Pro-am Community Rugby League podcast.
Upon revealing the appointment, Dave said, “I was delighted to be asked by Trevor Hunt, Chair of the NCL, to come on board with the National Conference League as the Media Manager. It’s a great honour to be asked and I took little time in accepting his offer. I’ve served as a Tour Media Manager for BARLA in the past and will also continue with a similar role with the England Community Lions.
“I have real enthusiasm and love for our great game and am thrilled to be able to lend some of my experience to the National Conference League where I will strive to initially improve coverage via the website and social media channels.
“I’m really looking forward to working with the NCL Management and member clubs to develop new media streams that will enhance the profile, awareness and reputation of the National Conference League.”
Speaking of the appointment NCL chair Trevor Hunt added, “Dave has a tremendous reputation as an excellent Media Manager, both at his own club, Leigh East and within the Community Rep sides that he has successfully promoted. His enthusiasm and considerable communication skills will bring a new vibrancy to the promotion of the competition and all that the NCL is striving to achieve and provide for its sponsors, clubs, players and volunteers. We are very much delighted and excited to have him on board.”
