North Wales Crusaders have announced the permanent signing of halfback Reece Briers for the 2022 season.

Reece, the son of former Wales international and Super League great Lee Briers, came through the system at Warrington Wolves, where he has featured for the academy sides over the last couple of years.

With the young halfback now looking to get some experience at senior level, he’s linked up with Crusaders for 2022 as the club look to build on a solid campaign last time out.

On the move to North Wales, Reece said: “I can’t wait and I’m really looking forward to the experience of playing against men.

“I want to earn the respect of my team mates and hopefully get as much experience as I can.

“For me, it’s going to be about working hard and aiming to get my way into the team.

“Even though it was a brilliant season for the club in 2021, I know they were disappointed to drop out of the play-offs so hopefully we can push on even more now.

“With my dad playing for Wales, I know the fans are very passionate so I’m really looking forward to playing in front of them.

“I just can’t wait and I’m buzzing to meet all the boys in pre-season.

“Working hard is all I do really and I’ll make sure I do that for my team mates, the coaching staff and the club.”
