The PNRL are pleased to announce our historic national women’s team playing Malta this Sunday at the Friendship Cup event at New Era stadium, Cabramatta Leagues club.
This will be the first IRL sanctioned international for our women’s team which will go towards the IRL women’s world ranking.
The side will be led by captain\coach Tammy Fletcher with a familiar side to one that competed in Brisbane at the inaugural Asian Footy Festival Oct 9.
Foundation players Leticia Haas, Jacky Mae-Lyden and Megan Rickertt returns to the side to add some senior experience and coming off a successful 2022 NRLW season with the Dragons, Renee Targett will be playing in the #7 shirt.
We are excited for all the player who will put on a strong performance against the experienced Malta Dames. Both teams are playing their first sanctioned international so we should see a great game from the two sides.
The Sampaguitas match will be the third game of the day kicking off at 13:50. Get down to New Era stadium and fly the flag in support of the team!
