Both the Cowboys and Dragons are wooden spoon contenders according to many Rugby League fans, and thus far neither has done anything to suggest otherwise. A win in this game will be crucial, as losing against a fellow bottom four favourite could be catastrophic and completely derail either of these clubs’ season. The last meeting between these two sides was a barn burner, with the Cowboys winning 23-22. Snapping their losing streak in round one will be quite difficult though, as the Cutters take on the Redcliffe Dolphins. Redcliffe thrashed Mackay the last time the two clubs faced off in 2019, and the injection of young Warriors talent will strengthen their squad this season.
