A fixture that could have severe repercussions for either side if they lose, Huddersfield versus Leeds will be full of anxiety.

The Giants and the Rhinos have won just four of their last ten games, but the former goes in to this fixture confident on the back of an essential 18-12 victory over fellow strugglers Hull KR two weeks ago. Their opponents Leeds, meanwhile, have lost their last two games – both at home – against Hull FC and Hull KR.

The John Smith’s Stadium has been a happy hunting ground more recently for Leeds with two wins and a draw from their past three away trips including their famous 2015 last-gasp victory to secure the League Leaders’ Shield. Prior to this, however, the Rhinos had won just once in nine attempts at Huddersfield.

Though Huddersfield are 8th, they are just two points clear of bottom side London, whilst Leeds may be 10th, but they are only above the Broncos on points difference.

Two Olivers return for the Giants in the form of Roberts and Russell whilst Jermaine McGillvary looks set to gain his 300th appearance for the club. Tom Holmes and Sebastine Ikahihifo drop out.

Leeds look to bring back Richie Myler at halfback as Callum McLelland drops out. Winger Ash Handley will join the 100 club if he plays.

Neither side will be brimming with confidence given how their respective seasons have panned out, but Huddersfield are in better form, and, with home advantage, will be keen to put distance between themselves and the Rhinos.
