Whilst Salford are riding high on a Challenge Cup quarter-final triumph, Hull will be licking their wounds with a 36-4 loss to Wigan in the same round. That defeat was the third game that the Airlie Birds had played in nine days, though the previous two matches had resulted in victories. Salford, meanwhile, curbed a two-match loss with a 22-18 Golden Point win over Catalans.
