Whether fortunately or unfortunately, Leeds’ round two fixture with Huddersfield was called off due to adverse weather conditions brought about by Storm Ciara. As such, the Rhinos’ home tie with Hull KR will be just their second game of the season, following a 30-4 drubbing at home to Hull FC in their opening game of 2020.
Hull KR, meanwhile, triumphed over Wakefield in round one and pushed their bitter rivals FC all the way in round two to just come up short, 25-16.
The Robins are in sixth place in the Super League table as Leeds prop up the rest of the league in 12th.
Good news too for KR fans as they have won the last three of four meetings against the Rhinos, including a 32-16 away victory in 2019.
Will Dagger comes in for the injured Adam Quinlan at fullback as Jordan Abdull, Matt Parcell and Joe Keyes return to the 21-man squad for Tony Smith’s men. Meanwhile, Stevie Ward still has to sit this fixture out due to the concussions assessment as Ava Seamanufagai replaces him for Richard Agar.
Leeds looked a dire side in round one, whilst Hull KR look a different team to the on in 2019 as Tony Smith’s influence seems to grow. Should be a tight game, but the Robins look capable of adding to Richard Agar’s woe at Leeds.
ERL PREDICTION
