Super League

London v Salford: Sunday Preview

07 Aug 19 0 Comments

The surprise package of 2019 so far, London are in a tremendous run of form with four wins from seven to give the capital side a real chance of staying in Super League. Salford, meanwhile, are hunting a play-off place, and, with four wins from their last six, the Red Devils are certainly in with a shout.

Though the Broncos are bottom, they are only bottom on points difference only and remain level with Leeds and Hull KR and just two behind Huddersfield and Wakefield. The Red Devils currently sit in 7th, but are just four points off fourth-placed Wigan.

Despite Salford’s rich vein in form, London have won four of their last five games at home, and, one of their last two home games against the Lancashire club.

Ian Watson’s inclusion of Greg Johnson is Salford’s only change whilst London have new halfback signing Brock Lamb available as Nathan Mason joins the squad. Sam Davis and Matty Gee drop out.

London have been a menace to top teams at home in 2019, but Salford have been one of the surprise packages as well this season and the Red Devils will be confident of closing the gap to the top five, although they will not have it all their own way.
