St George Illawarra Dragons v Sydney Roosters: Round 23 Preview

The Roosters will look to continue their hot streak when they visit the Dragons on Saturday night under lights at Kogarah. The Chooks have won five matches in a row after their 42-6 thumping of the Warriors last Sunday.

St George doesn’t’ boast such an impressive recent record, losing six of its last seven matches, with the lone win in that time coming against the lowly Titans. They have also lost three of four against the Roosters, including a 20-10 loss on Anzac Day.

Jackson Ford is promoted to a starting role after scoring a try from the bench last weekend for the Saints. For the Tricolours, Siosiua Taukeiaho is back in the side, with Sitili Tupounuia making way.

This is a game between two teams with contrasting form lines. The Roosters are on a roll with September in their sights, while the offseason can’t come quick enough for St George. Boasting one of the league’s worst defences, the Big V will be under all sorts of pressure on Saturday night against a Roosters side that has scored the most points in the NRL this season.
