Things don’t get any easier for Wakefield in their quest to stay in the top flight as a home tie beckons against third-placed Hull. With just one win in ten games – the worst run of form for any Super League side – Trinity are in complete disarray.
The two saving graces for Wakefield are the fact that they have triumphed in six of their last nine games played at home and in three of their previous five fixtures against their Humberside opponents.
The Airlie Birds have been inconsistent recently too; with only two wins from their past six games. Hull are in danger of slipping out of third despite occupying the spot for the majority of the season.
Max Jowitt and George King miss out for Trinity, though new signings Morgan Escare and Adam Tangata are ready to make their debuts. Pauli Pauli, James Batchelor and skipper Jacob Miller are also named after missing the previous week’s defeat to St Helens.
Hull name a new recruit in their squad with Tevita Satae coming into contention following his move from New Zealand Warriors earlier in the week. Jack Logan, Kieran Buchanan and Danny Washbrook are also drafted in whilst Albert Kelly, Mickey Paea and Joe Westerman miss out through injury and illness. Chris Green is ineligible for Wakefield after moving from FC in the week.
This could well be one of the hardest to call for the weekend – both sides are desperate for victory but for very different reasons. And, the result could have serious repercussions at both ends of the table. HULL FOR THE WIN
