Sonny Bill Willams is one of the greatest athletes to participate in multiple sporting leagues at the highest level.

He is a two-time premiership winner in the NRL with the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs and Sydney Roosters respectively and represented New Zealand on multiple occasions.

In Rugby Union, he is a two time Rugby World Cup winner and a former Super Rugby champion.

Williams is also known for his ongoing boxing career with the 36-year-old most recently defeating former AFL star Barry Hall.

Speculation has since been rampant on who he will take on next with Paul Gallen and Williams both publicly declaring that they would like to face the other.

This is a fight that fans have been wanting to see for years but Gallen may have to wait as SBW has appeared on the radar of an international star.

Jake Paul made a name for himself on YouTube with his channel that is subscribed to by 20.4 million people and has made the move into boxing, defeating athletes such as UFC fighter Tyrone Woodley.

Paul recently appeared on The Fight podcast and has mentioned Williams as a potential future opponent along with some mixed martial arts legends.

“Floyd Mayweather, Oscar De La Hoya, Anderson Silva, Michael Bisping, Tommy Fury, Sonny Williams out of Australia,” said Paul.

“There’s a lot of people on the hit list and some other names that we’re talking to. Just trying to pick the biggest opponent.

“Everyone I’ve fought I’ve carried the promotion, nobody has matched my star power so I’m looking for someone who can match my star power – we might fight in Australia, America or the UAE.”

Williams then responded to Paul via his Twitter page referring to himself as Paul’s first loss.

De La Hoya also spoke about the YouTuber turned boxer.

“With only four or five fights and the way he’s taking it serious, Jake Paul is the real deal,” said De La Hoya.

“And I dare anyone who has boxing experience, who has MMA experience, to call him out because I’ll tell you one thing, this guy can beat a lot of good champions and even maybe great champions.”

It is not yet certain who Paul will face but he and his opponent are expected to clash in August.
