The Mighty Black and Whites are a Hull FC supporter group formed on Facebook 2011.
During the current COVID-19 Pandemic, England’s National Health Services have been crucial and effective and to give back to the NHS, the Mighty Black and Whites are selling custom NHS style jerseys.
On the 1st of May, they launched their NHS Charity Shirt with the aim of raising as much as they possibly can for local Hull NHS Trusts in response to the amazing work they do, not only throughout the Covid-19 pandemic but throughout their careers so far.
The jerseys cost £28.00 each with all proceeds going to the Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and the Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust.
Founder of The Mighty Black and Whites Lee Middleton is grateful to have the opportunity to show their appreciation for the NHS through this jersey.
“We are doing this to say thank you to all those who work hard to save lives every day. They are our heroes and this is a small token of the immense gratitude Hull has for our NHS.” Middleton told Everything Rugby League.
“Each Shirt sold will raise £10 for the two NHS Trusts in Hull and so far we have sold over 600 of our stunning charity shirts raising £6000 so far.
“What makes our Charity Shirt unique, in some respects, is our section on the back of the shirt dedicated to local companies and key workers who have been working incredibly hard supporting, volunteering and working for us all to keep us safe and healthy during these incredibly difficult times.
“It is because of those Key Workers and NHS Staff that we decided we needed to say thank you to them all and what better way that a Rugby Shirt so many people can wear with pride knowing they supported our local NHS!”
