Sheffield Eagles will be seeking revenge for their First Round Betfred Challenge Cup defeat as they face York City Knights in a huge clash on Sunday evening – 7:30pm, live on Our League.

The Eagles sit top of the Betfred Championship table after dismantling Bradford Bulls in Round One, with seven different players crossing for Mark Aston’s men.

York’s Betfred Championship campaign got underway with a 6-21 defeat to promotion hopefuls Toulouse Olympique. A Cup defeat to Wigan Warriors last Friday means James Ford’s side head into this weekend on the back of consecutive defeats but they managed to comfortably dispatch of the Eagles, 6-30, last month.

Also on Sunday evening, there is a huge West Yorkshire derby as Bradford Bulls face Halifax Panthers; two more sides who had contrasting fortunes in Round One of the Betfred Championship.

Halifax opened the 2020 season with a comfortable 47-14 victory over London Broncos at The Shay while Bradford succumbed to a blistering Sheffield performance in Doncaster. The Panthers have brought Adam Tangata back to the club in midweek and the powerful front-rower could return to the squad against the Bulls this week.

As for Widnes, they pulled off a remarkable comeback against Newcastle Thunder scoring 14 points in the final 10 minutes to seal a 30-30 draw and an opening weekend point.

Featherstone Rovers will be looking to bounce back from a Betfred Challenge Cup defeat against Hull FC by making it two wins from two in the Championship as they travel to Swinton Lions.
