Leeds Rhinos resumed their defence of the Betfred Women’s Super League with a convincing 6-28 victory over fellow 2019 finalists Castleford Tigers.
Both sides returned for the top five play-offs, following a month away from the field, but it was Leeds who came away with the spoils thanks to their second half performance.
Castleford did take the lead after just four minutes when England international Hollie Dodd pounced on a low kick which had been fumbled by Caitlin Beevers. Keara Bennett levelled the scores after spotting an opening from acting halfback midway through the first half.
After the sides went in level at the break, it was Leeds who put their foot on the pedal in the second half.

2019 Woman of Steel Courtney Winfield-Hill was pivotal as she scored two tries inside three minutes as the Rhinos took a stronghold on the fixture.
Leeds would ship the ball wide in the closing stages with Tara Moxon scoring on the right-hand side before Sophie Robinson followed suit on the opposite flank.
