Featherstone Rovers have announced the signing of Jesse Sene-Lefao.

Sene-Lefao made the move to the United Kingdom in 2017 joining local rivals Castleford Tigers and went on to make 100 appearances for the club and helped the Tigers on route to the League Leaders’ Shield in his debut season.

The 31-year-old previously represented Manly Sea Eagles and Cronulla Sharks in the NRL between 2013 and 2015, whilst making two appearances for Samoa in 2014.

On the move, Sene-Lefao said: “I’m so grateful to be here, it’s so special in so many ways.

“I’ve been talking to fans and doing my research to understand the significance of the club within the local community, I feel so privileged to be here, even though I haven’t played a game yet, I feel a part of the community, I love the fans, it’s such a good community to be around.

“I really can’t wait to get out there, play on the main pitch, and show the goods.”

Featherstone boss Brian McDermott added: “I’m extremely pleased with this signing which absolutely demonstrates the club’s ambition to progress to the next level.

“Jesse is a proven top-class player at the highest levels of the game, and we will need this leadership, experience and quality as we look forward to an extremely challenging 2022.”

Rovers CEO Martin Vickers commented: “The signing of Jesse is a real statement of intent by Mark and the Board as we look to go one step further in 2022.”
