Catalans Dragons impressed with a 28-0 victory over Wigan Warriors on Saturday evening in the Betfred Super League.
The French side broke the deadlock after 15 minutes when Australian halfback Mitchell Pearce touched down. Sam Tomkins successfully converted before following up with two additional penalty goals to extend the Dragons lead to ten points.
Mickael Goudemand would score for the second consecutive fixture just before the break to put Steve McNamara’s side in control going into the second half.
After the interval, Wigan failed to deal with a low kick and Pearce latched onto the loose ball to double his account for the evening. Catalans stranglehold on the game showed no signs of easing as Samisoni Langi beat the Warriors defence to a low kick just after the hour-mark.

Matt Peet’s side looked for a way back into the game, but the hosts proved too strong.
Elsewhere, Huddersfield Giants managed to see off Castleford Tigers after looking like they had thrown away an 18-0 lead.
Tries from Owen Trout, Luke Yates and Jermaine McGillvary gave Huddersfield a three-try lead at half-time.
However, Castleford scored four converted tries in the opening 20 minutes of the second half to put themselves ahead – Jake Trueman notched a double alongside efforts from Mahe Fonua and Greg Eden.
Huddersfield turned the tables once more though and centre Ricky Leutele would seal a hat-trick in the final 15 minutes of the game to seal a 36-24 victory.
