Hull KR and Salford Red Devils will offer further evidence of the growing depth of Women’s Rugby League when they meet on Saturday afternoon in the pick of this weekend’s Championship fixtures.

The game will be a 3pm kick off at Craven Park on Saturday, following the club’s Men’s fixture with Catalans.

Both clubs claimed notable victories last Sunday to qualify for the Semi Finals of the Women’s League Cup competition.

Salford, who have made such an impressive impact on the Women’s game in a matter of months since forming their team only last autumn, beat Illingworth 40-6 – a result which received a warm ovation when it was announced at half-time of the men’s Betfred Super League fixture against Leeds Rhinos at the AJ Bell Stadium.

Meanwhile Hull KR won a thrilling and historic derby fixture against Hull FC which more than justified the decision of the Rovers club to stage the match at Sewell Group Craven Park, with Madison Kendall scoring the decisive try in the second period of golden point extra time.

The Semi Finals will be played on Sunday July 10, with Rovers facing Orrell St James, and Salford taking on Dewsbury Moor – and the Final of the Women’s League Cup has now been confirmed for Sunday July 31 at Orrell St James.
