Wakefield Trinity captain Danny Kirmond will end his nine-year spell at the club at the end of this year to join York City Knights.
Everything Rugby League understands Kirmond is a set for a move to the Championship outfit in 2021.
The 34-year-old is off-contract at the end of this year.
The second-rower has made more than 150 appearances for Wakefield since he moved permanently to Belle Vue from Huddersfield in 2012.
Kirmond was born in Wakefield and was a junior with Stanley Rangers.
He started his career at Featherstone Rovers and had a spell with the Giants before linking with Trinity.
The former England international has captained Wakefield since 2012.
Kirmond has also served as a coach of the club’s reserves and as the club’s player performance manager.
This year the forward has only managed two appearances in Super League
