Our League has confirmed the live streaming of two more pre-season matches – Oldham’s game with Halifax Panthers at Bower Fold on Saturday 13 March (KO 4pm), and the following day’s clash between Huddersfield Giants and Leeds Rhinos at the John Smith’s Stadium (Sunday 14 March, 2pm).

Government restrictions mean that both games will be played behind closed doors, though fans of all four clubs – and interested neutrals – will be able to see the games live on the RFL’s Our League platform.

Our League is available online via the RFL website and can be download via the App Store or Google Play. All versions of Our League offer a casting facility.

Oldham season-ticket holders will be able to see their game against Halifax for free, whilst access to either game for all other viewers will cost £4.95 in advance or £10 on the day of the games.

All four clubs are expected to field a host of new signings, making the games an even more attractive proposition for supporters.

Huddersfield Giants Managing Director Richard Thewlis says: “The Our League App was a success story last year in showing live games and will continue to do so while the restrictions around crowds are in place.

“The usual pre-season game would involve a sharing of cost and income and give a boost to club coffers ahead of the start of the season and via Our League we are able to replicate in some fashion this model.

“I do believe that streaming will become an even larger part of life as time moves on and supporter viewing habits change as no doubt will the broadcasting of live sport in general. “This game is a trial for us in terms of running our first ever pay per view game via the RFL and like the Leeds club we are keen to gauge uptake and have kept the price low deliberately to gain as large an audience as possible.”

Oldham coach Matt Diskin says: “I’m happy that we’ve been able to arrange friendlies against Featherstone and Halifax – two clubs who have always been there or thereabouts in the Championship. They are both promotion contenders and both have strengthened well for 2021, so both games will be a good barometer for me to know exactly where we stand – and that’s what we want from pre-season games.”
