Newcastle Thunder second-rower Sam Luckley has been linked with a move to Ottawa Aces.

Everything Rugby League understands Luckley will be joining Ottawa for their debut campaign in League 1 in 2021.

The 24-year-old hails from North Shields and is a Scotland international.

Last season the back-rower scored one try in 23 matches for Newcastle.

Luckley debuted for the Thunder in 2016 and has made more than 70 appearances for the club.

In 2019 he helped Scotland qualify for the 2021 World Cup.

The Aces, set up by former Toronto Wolfpack founder Eric Perez, are joining the third tier next year.
