There is still have a plethora of talent without a club for season 2022, including players with State of Origin and International experience, and premiership winners too.
Today we take a look at every club’s off-contract contingent and who they should be holding on to.
BRISBANE BRONCOS
Brisbane doesn’t have too much talent off-contract and could afford to let all three unsigned players go elsewhere in 2022, although Daniel Levi has impressed when used at hooker for the club this season, and John Asiata could be a good backup in the forwards.
OFF CONTRACT: John Asiata, Daniel Levi, Ben Te’o
CANBERRA RAIDERS
Canberra has a number of players off contract heading into 2022, with a few that are must keeps, the biggest of which being Sam Williams, who has brought relative stability back to the Raiders’ halves and the Green Machine are really lacking other options.

CANTERBURY-BANKSTOWN BULLDOGS
There is no one that the Bulldogs really “must keep” from this list, but it would be wise for the club to re-sign a couple of forwards for depth.

CRONULLA-SUTHERLAND SHARKS
Kai O’Donnell, Mawene Hiroti and Kyle Paterson are all players the Sharks should look to wrap up for some solid depth in 2022, with the rest not needed and a couple that have even already been told by the club that their services will no longer be needed.

OFF CONTRACT: Michael Oldfield, Blake Ferguson, Jordan Rankin, Samuel Hughes, Will Smith
PENRITH PANTHERS
A player of Jaeman Salmon’s versatility would be a handy addition to any roster, so if the Panthers can then they should re-sign him.

SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS
A few talented players are off contract at South Sydney and they won’t be able to keep them all, they must decide who is their halfback of the future out of Troy Dargan and Dean Hawkins, then Mark Nicholls is a must and Benji Marshall could still have a year left in him.
