There is still have a plethora of talent without a club for season 2022, including players with State of Origin and International experience, and premiership winners too.

Today we take a look at every club’s off-contract contingent and who they should be holding on to.

BRISBANE BRONCOS

Brisbane doesn’t have too much talent off-contract and could afford to let all three unsigned players go elsewhere in 2022, although Daniel Levi has impressed when used at hooker for the club this season, and John Asiata could be a good backup in the forwards.

OFF CONTRACT: John Asiata, Daniel Levi, Ben Te’o

CANBERRA RAIDERS

Canberra has a number of players off contract heading into 2022, with a few that are must keeps, the biggest of which being Sam Williams, who has brought relative stability back to the Raiders’ halves and the Green Machine are really lacking other options.

OFF CONTRACT: Albert Hopoate, Caleb Aekins, Matt Frawley, Sam Williams, Siliva Havili, Dunamis Lui, Curtis Scott, Jordan Rapana, Iosia Soliola

CANTERBURY-BANKSTOWN BULLDOGS

There is no one that the Bulldogs really “must keep” from this list, but it would be wise for the club to re-sign a couple of forwards for depth.

OFF CONTRACT: Sione Katoa, Dean Britt, Ofahiki Ogden, Christian Crichton, James Roumanos, Lachlan Lewis, Dylan Napa, Chris Smith

CRONULLA-SUTHERLAND SHARKS

Kai O’Donnell, Mawene Hiroti and Kyle Paterson are all players the Sharks should look to wrap up for some solid depth in 2022, with the rest not needed and a couple that have even already been told by the club that their services will no longer be needed.

OFF CONTRACT: Josh Dugan, Will Chambers, Aiden Tolman, Billy Magoulias, Mawene Hiroti, Kyle Paterson, Nene Macdonald, Kai O’Donnell, Aaron Woods

GOLD COAST TITANS

The Titans should look to hold onto Tanah Boyd, Darius Farmer and Sam McIntyre for depth; however, they won’t be too concerned over losing the rest.

OFF CONTRACT: Mitch Rein, Tanah Boyd, Ashley Taylor Darius Farmer, Tyrone Peachey Sam McIntyre, Jonus Pearson

MANLY-WARRINGAH SEA EAGLES

Manly should be focused on keeping Tevita Funa and then Curtis Sironen if they can, with the rest good for depth.

OFF CONTRACT: Dylan Walker, Morgan Boyle, Curtis Sironen Tevita Funa, Jorge Taufua, Jack Gosiewski

MELBOURNE STORM

The only player Melbourne really needs to re-sign from this list is Cooper Johns as their second string halfback.

OFF CONTRACT: Darryn Schonig, Ryley Jacks, Max King, Cooper Johns, Tepai Moeroa

NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS

Based on his recent form, Sean O’Sullivan is a must re-sign for the Warriors.

OFF CONTRACT: Sean O’Sullivan, Leeson Ah Mau, Jackson Frei, Tom Ale

NEWCASTLE KNIGHTS

Going forward, it would be wise for Newcastle to hold onto Tex Hoy, Phoenix Crossland and Enari Tuala.

OFF CONTRACT: Tex Hoy, Phoenix Crossland, Enari Tuala, Lachlan Fitzgibbon, Edrick Lee

NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS

Shane Wright could yet prove himself further in the top grade, and North Queensland would be wise to hold onto him.

OFF CONTRACT: Shane Wright, Justin O’Neill.

PARRAMATTA EELS

Will Smith wouldn’t be the worst player to keep a hold of; however, Parramatta are going to need as much cap space as possible for next year’s off contract players.

OFF CONTRACT: Michael Oldfield, Blake Ferguson, Jordan Rankin, Samuel Hughes, Will Smith

PENRITH PANTHERS

A player of Jaeman Salmon’s versatility would be a handy addition to any roster, so if the Panthers can then they should re-sign him.

OFF CONTRACT: Jaeman Salmon, Tyrone May

SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS

A few talented players are off contract at South Sydney and they won’t be able to keep them all, they must decide who is their halfback of the future out of Troy Dargan and Dean Hawkins, then Mark Nicholls is a must and Benji Marshall could still have a year left in him.

OFF CONTRACT: Troy Dargan, Benji Marshall, Tautau Moga, Mark Nicholls, Braidon Burns, Joshua Cook, Brock Gardner, Dean Hawkins

ST GEORGE-ILLAWARRA DRAGONS

Corey Norman has already been given his marching orders by the Red V, other than that it would be wise to keep Jordan Pereira and Billy Brittain on the books.

OFF CONTRACT: Corey Norman, Gerard Beale, Jordan Pereira, Billy Brittain

SYDNEY ROOSTERS

Due to Billy Smith’s rate of injury, another year with Josh Morris on the roster would be wise, and Matt Ikuvalu is a must keep for the Roosters.

OFF CONTRACT: Josh Morris, Dale Copley, Matt Ikuvalu

WESTS TIGERS

Zac Cini is a must keep for the Tigers, as is Thomas Mikaele for depth.

OFF CONTRACT: Thomas Mikaele, Tom Amone, Russell Packer, Michael Chee-Kam, Zac Cini
