Liam Marshall (Wigan Warriors)
Wigan Warriors brought to an end Huddersfield Giants’ perfect start to 2020 this weekend but it was winger Liam Marshall who stole the show with an outrageous effort.
Marshall collected the ball from a Giants kick-off before chipping the ball over the onrushing Huddersfield defense, collecting his own kick and racing the final 40m to score.
Emma Templeton (Keighley Cougars)
The Coral Women’s Challenge Cup got underway this past weekend and Keighley Cougars – who made the quarter-finals last season – managed to see off the Royal Air Force.
Emma Templeton was one of the try-scorers as she rounded seven RAF defenders – keeping one at bay with a big hand-off – to score in the corner.
Adam Ryder (Dewsbury Rams)
Dewsbury Rams earned an impressive 20-8 victory over Widnes Vikings live on Our League on Sunday evening and Adam Ryder’s try was the pick of the bunch!
Liam Finn’s cross-field kick caused issues for the Vikings and winger Andy Gabriel climbed higher than the Widnes defenders and patted the ball down for Adam Ryder who burrowed his way over from close-range.
Jamie Shaul (Hull FC)
Hull FC fell to a disappointing defeat against Catalans Dragons this weekend, but Jamie Shaul pulled out a typical Jamie Shaul try at the KCOM Stadium.
Jake Connor and Albert Kelly both got away clever offloads inside their own half before Shaul broke free and rode the challenge of Sam Tomkins to find the line.
Jason Tali (Doncaster)
Doncaster suffered defeat in Round One of Betfred League 1 against Barrow Raiders but their exciting attack was on show for Jason Tali’s try.
Watson Boas shipped the ball wide before Tali burst onto the ball on the inside, sliced through the Raiders’ and stepped his way through four defenders to finish well.
Elliot Hall (Workington Town)
Elliot Hall scored FOUR tries for Workington Town in their victory over Keighley Cougars, but his 90-yard interception was the pick of the bunch.
A loose Cougars pass was plucked out of the air by Hall who was simply too fast with no Keighley defenders getting within touching distance.
