Well, it’s the battle at the top as Huddersfield host Wigan with the Giants the only undefeated side still in the competition. Following three wins from three matches so far this season, Huddersfield has defied the odds so far in 2020 whilst the Warriors overcame a strong Hull FC side last weekend to triumph 26-12 and sit just below the Giants in the table.
Team changes
Jordan Turner has recovered from a minor injury for Simon Woolford’s men with Darnell McIntosh out after sustaining a knee injury in Huddersfield’s victory over Salford. Wigan boss Adrian Lam brings back George Burgess and Joe Shorrocks as Joe Burgess and Joe Greenwood – who left for Leeds on-loan midweek – drop out.
Last time they met
The last time these two sides met saw Wigan run out 38-22 winners at the John Smith’s Stadium in June 2019. However, things have been fairly even in recent years with both sides taking home two victories in four games prior to that result.
ERL Prediction
Huddersfield has been impressive in 2020, and, though Wigan has won three games from four, they have yet to hit the heights predicted for them. Led by Aidan Sezer, the Giants could continue to upset the applecart with a strong home showing.
Wigan Warriors for the win.
