Salford v Huddersfield

Salford recorded their first victory of the new season with a hard-fought 24-16 win over newcomers Toronto last weekend, whilst Huddersfield’s game against Leeds was postponed.

Despite playing an extra game then, the Red Devils sit in eighth whilst the Giants occupy fourth, following their superb round one demolition of Catalans.

Salford beat Huddersfield twice in three meetings in 2019 as they charged to the Grand Final, but the Giants have triumphed in two of their last three away games at the AJ Bell Stadium and will be fancying their chances following Salford’s lacklustre start to the season.

Salford boss Ian Watson has brought back Mark Flanagan in place of Sebastine Ikahihifo whilst Huddersfield’s Simon Woolford names an unchanged 21-man squad.

The Red Devils picked up a victory against Toronto, but looked miles off the pace in round one. With Aidan Sezer controlling proceedings, Huddersfield may well spring a surprise
