Sharks to win grinder against Bunnies

In what shapes as a low-scoring affair, Cronulla can get the chocolates against boom team South Sydney.

Cronulla have had plenty of player turnover but The Wolf is keen on some of the young guns coming through, particularly in the pack. Souths have an outstanding side but Latrell Mitchell is untried at fullback and the Souths pack looks fragile and there to be beaten.

The matchup between the two teams has been fairly even in recent times, Since 2011, no team has won two on the trot in this rivalry with the exception  of the Sharks winning twice in 2015. The Rabbitohs have won six straight against the Sharks at Shark Park though. Cronulla won the only meeting last year 39-24. Nine straight before that meeting failed to top 40 points. The under has hit in eight of 10 meetings.

South Sydney won their two trials, opening up with a 28-24 win over Parramatta before a 26-12 come-from-behind Charity Shield win over St George Illawarra. Souths lost in the quarters of the Nines. Cronulla lost their opening trial 30-18 to Canterbury before a 28-16 win over Manly. The Sharks did not advance to the knockout stage of the Nines.

Souths have covered just 5 of 16 at ANZ and just 1 of 8 day games. The Sharks have covered 10 of 13 day games away from Shark Park. The Wolf is very keen on Cronulla here.
