The market drastically undervalued the Manly Sea Eagles last week in their must-win final against the Sharks, but The Wolf didn’t, with the Sea Eagles winning outright, and unlucky not to take the honours in the 13+ market at a juicy $6.25, with a 79th minute Sharks converted try undoing that long shot. The boys from Brookey are once again underdogs this week as they face a Souths side that were totally outplayed in the first half against the Roosters, losing 30-6 to the premiership favourites.
The Bunnies are $1.46 favourites to progress to a preliminary final match against the Raiders next week, with Manly priced at $2.70.
Both sides are buoyed by big inclusions at team selection, with Rabbitohs captain Sam Bugress returning from suspension and Dane Gagai back after missing time with a hamstring injury. Manly enforcer Marty Taupau is back after a suspension, with third-gamer Sean Keppie moving to the bench.
Manly has a wretched record at ANZ Stadium, losing their past nine matches at the venue, but The Wolf thinks they are more than a decent shot of an upset win on Friday night.
In two meetings this season, the margin of victory has been one-point to either side. With plenty to play for and the Sea Eagles riding high after a morale boosting win against the Sharks, they’ll be a handful on Friday night.
