The draw will be made today (Tuesday) for Euro D, which features Czechia, Netherlands, Malta and hosts Turkey. The tournament will be played in Bodrum at the 4,500 capacity, municipal Ilce Stadi, with the semi finals on Thursday 14 October and finals three days later.
The draw will be undertaken in Leeds by European Rugby League general manager David Butler and Middle East Africa regional manager Remond Safi, and will be broadcast live at 6pm on the ERL facebook page – www.facebook.com/EuroRugbyLeague
Turkish Rugby League Association president, Gurol Yildiz, said: “We are really looking forward to seeing how the draw comes out. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to expand rugby league throughout the country and, hopefully, the whole region. We intend to make it a great event for all.”
All four nations competing have recently seen a return to the field following pandemic restrictions and have begun their selection preparations. Netherlands head coach, Kane Krilic, added: “We’ve been able to have a better build up for what should be a very exciting competition. We are relishing going in as underdogs and testing the strength of our domestic competition.”
