Round 7 this week was an interesting choice. Last week I said that the battle would be between Castleford and Toulouse, the bottom two teams, both only winning once. However, after Leeds Rhinos put out their hardest, and still couldn’t break down or score against a pretty mediocre Saints side I have no choice but to give it to them!
Leeds lost 0-26 at home to the champions. St Helens defence was very good all through the game, but Leeds looked their best yet attacking wise and still failed to score.
It’s all going wrong at Leeds. They’re out of the cup, they’ve won one game all season, their head coach stepped down and they are joint bottom with Toulouse.
Therefore, I have had no choice but to pass the spoon to the Rhinos this week as they are in serious trouble. They are the lowest scorers in the league, they’re without a proper head coach since JJB took the ropes.

Their next two games are against Huddersfield and Castleford, both of which are in form. If they drop four points from these, all eyes will be on Toulouse who play the Rhinos in three week’s time. This will certainly be a spoon decider if both teams are still joint bottom.
I hope Leeds find a good coach, work out their discipline issues and stop making so many errors on the field. They’re an established club and one of the most successful winning the grand final 8 times, joint with St Helens. Otherwise it’s a downward spiral for them into the championship. They should count themselves lucky only one team goes down.
