Toronto Wolfpack earned an impressive 18-0 victory over fellow Super League outfit Huddersfield Giants at the John Smith’s Stadium to become the first side to progress to Round Six of the Coral Challenge Cup.

The Wolfpack will enter Monday’s draw – which will take place in New York – along with eight additional Super League sides and the seven winners from this weekend’s Coral Challenge Cup ties.

Toronto took the lead after just two minutes as Gareth O’Brien found an onrushing Ricky Leutele on the inside and the former Cronulla Sharks man powered his way over from close-range.

The Wolfpack and Leutele doubled their accounts for the evening on the 10-minute mark with Josh McCrone providing the assist on this occasion. McCrone’s deft kick towards the posts caused issues for the Giants defence and Leutele latched onto the loose ball to score.

Two penalty goals from O’Brien saw Brian McDermott’s side go into the break with a 16-0 lead.

Toronto remained on top in the second half but couldn’t find a way over the Huddersfield try-line. O’Brien added a solitary penalty goal after the break to ensure a Wolfpack victory.
