York City Knights have confirmed the loan signings of Joe Keyes and Lewis Peachey.
Keyes joins on an initial two-week loan deal while Peachey will spend the entire 2021 season at the LNER Community Stadium.
The 20-year-old Peachey made his Betfred Super League debut for Castleford against Catalans Dragons in 2019 and has gone on to make six appearances for the Tigers.
Keyes joins on loan from Hull Kingston Rovers for whom he appeared on five occasions last season. The London-born halfback had previously spent time with London Broncos and London Skolars before a four-year spell with Bradford Bulls.
Peachey said: “York are a really good club with great facilities and I’m looking forward to getting started.
“I’m hoping to get some more experience. I’ve played limited minutes at first team level for Castleford and I’m keen to get some more under my belt.”
Keyes said: “I’m really happy to have signed on loan for the Knights. The club have been doing great things on and off the field so the chance to come and play some games here is really exciting for me.
“I’m looking forward to working with Fordy and the lads and hoping to do my bit for the team and contributing as best as I can.”
On Peachey, York Head Coach James Ford said: “Lewis is an uncompromising player who carries intensity in his contact. I remember him from my time with England Academy and I remember a good kid who had some promise. I’m pleased to be in a position to have a closer look at him.”
And on the arrival of Keyes, Ford added: “I’m absolutely delighted to bring in Joe. I’ve known him for a number of years from games we’ve played against him and that I’ve previewed. He brings a great attacking threat and he’ll bring a lot to our performances and preparation.”
York City Knights face Sheffield Eagles this Sunday at 7:30pm live on Our League. You can watch the game live by purchasing your weekend or gameday passes here.
